How to Use This Website
For Section Members, Other Attorneys Licensed in Texas and everyone else:
- To log into this website, use the same credentials that you use for the TexasBar.com website, namely: your Texas Bar number (for the username) and the same password that you use for logging into TexasBar.com. If you are licensed in Texas but not a member, please join us! Go to your mybar page on TexasBar.com and add the Business Law Section as one of your Section memberships. It only costs $40 per year.
- Having trouble logging in (during the months of June, July, and August)? This website uses the same authentication credentials that the State Bar's website (TexasBar.com) uses. The State Bar updates the section membership roles after we pay our membership dues, usually in late July - early August. During that time, the authentication information isn't correct on the State Bar's side, and you can receive an authentication failure -- even though you've paid your dues. This is a temporary (but annoying) problem that should resolve itself in a few days (or maybe even a week). Unfortunately, the Section cannot make the Bar handle this issue expeditiously.
- What are the benefits for Section members? Once you've logged in, check out the Members Benefits, and the Resource Centers. The CLE Materials is a popular destination as it has a wealth of materials.
- For people who are lawyers not licensed in Texas or non-lawyers: Some of our content is available for anyone to read. Full versions of our Journal articles and content in our Legal Opinions Resource Center are available to anyone. You can also read the summaries of our items of "members only" content but cannot read the full versions or download them. We are working on providing day passes or per item purchases for those who are not licensed to practice law in Texas.
