The Venture Capital Committee provides a forum for exchanging views on the legal and business issues facing Texas lawyers who form and represent venture capital funds and advise entrepreneurs and companies seeking financing from those sources. Through its subcommittees, the committee addresses the securities, corporate, tax, intellectual property, and other concerns of the venture capital community through educational and legislative initiatives.

The Venture Capital Committee will put on another webcast in the Spring of 2006 - it will be a roundtable of Venture Capital lawyers discussing legal and business issues affecting the Texas Venture Capital bar and industry. The Venture Capital Committee has already put in place for the year free access for all members of the Business Law Section to the VC Experts web site, a valuable and in-depth resource for Texas venture capital lawyers. The Venture Capital Committee will also work to finalize a periodic email newsletter tracking trends and news that affects Texas venture capital lawyers as well as start work on a subcommittee to take recommendations on desired changes to Texas laws affecting the venture capital industry.
