Commercial Code

The Commercial Code Committee monitors developments relating to the Uniform Commercial Code. It has studied and commented on changes to the UCC as contained in legislation considered by the Texas Legislature in the past several regular sessions, most recently amendments to Chapters 3, 4, and 7 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, which cover negotiable instruments, bank deposits, and documents of title. In preparation for the 2007 regular session, the Committee continues to review proposed changes to Chapters 2 and 2A, which cover sales and leases of personal property.
